As organizations integrate AI into critical business processes, the risks extend far beyond job displacement. Growing dependence on AI systems can create operational vulnerabilities, including third-party dependencies, vendor lock-in, limited provider liability and new compliance challenges. At the same time, increasing automation can erode human expertise — creating a situation where organizations become less capable of responding when AI systems fail.
This panel explores how organizations can manage these risks in practice. Bringing together legal, technology and regulated-industry perspectives, it will examine provider risk, operational resilience, business continuity and the “automation paradox”, and discuss how organizations can balance AI-driven efficiency with human oversight, redundancy and tested fallback procedures.
