Fantastic Privacy Threats and Where to Find Them

Format: Workshop · Required preknowledge: Beginner · Room: EG01 (WS)
Time: 15:30–16:30
Topics: Data Protection & Privacy

We all care about protecting individuals’ rights and freedoms—but how do you assess risks to data subjects in practice when conducting a DPIA or FRIA? Privacy threat modeling provides a structured approach to identifying threats and assessing their associated risks, helping organizations determine when further assessment may be needed and informing the substance of a DPIA or FRIA.

If you enjoyed applying the LINDDUN, PLOT4AI and MITRE PANOPTIC frameworks to last year’s generative AI case study—or missed the workshop but wish you hadn’t—this year we’ll take a tour of common privacy threats across software and organizational processes. Together, we’ll explore where these threats tend to lurk and discuss practical strategies for addressing them.

Join us for an interactive session bridging legal and privacy engineering perspectives. Everyone is welcome; no technical or threat-modeling background is required.
